Transfer pictures on to canvas prints to help reach your goals
A New Year’s resolution is a tradition, where a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement or something nice that affects others. It's a common tradition it most places across the world, but believe it or not, it originally started in Babylon.
The Babylonians made promises to their gods at the start of each year that they would return borrowed objects and pay their debts, and it wasn't only them. The Romans used to make promises to their god Janus, which the month of January is named after, and during the Medieval era the knights took a ‘peacock vow’ at the end of Christmas to reaffirm their commitments to chivalry. Interesting stuff or what?!
Over the centuries New Year’s resolutions have developed and changed a great deal. According to Statistic Brain today’s top resolutions are to lose weight and get more organised.
We understand how hard is it to stick to New Year’s resolutions, so here at Parrot Print we’ve come up with some canvas print ideas you can use to help you reach your goals in 2016.
Spend time with those who matter
Another one of Statistic Brain’s top New Year’s resolution is spend more time with the family. Spending time with our nearest and dearest normally results in family holidays, homemade feasts and more importantly, making great memories. Sometimes we take our family for granted, so to make sure we remember to spend time with those who matter you should create a family collage or family canvas print. Don’t worry it’s a lot easier than it sounds. We’ve even got photography apps that will put together a collage for you within minutes ready to upload here.
Shed and save those pounds
We all know that sticking to diets and saving up money is hard to achieve without a little help. We’ve come up with some creative ways that will not only help you reach your goal but you’ll actually see the difference as it’s happening. Firstly, why not create your own illustrated canvas so you can colour in pieces every time you lose a pound or save a certain amount until it’s full and then you should have reached your goal. If striking images motivate you more, why not put together a mood board of your favourite celebrity you wish to look like. You could even make a collage of designer clothes, expensive equipment or even your dream home, to help keep you inspired to save.
Map out 2016
When you're busy working hard holidays are put on hold or simply forgotten about. This is why you need to create breath-taking travel canvas prints to hang on your walls, so you know what you’re working towards and saving your money for. Instead of having one canvas print, why not choose a selection of places you wish to travel to and create various split canvases. At Parrot Print we offer diptych and triptych canvases for you to choose from, you can find more information about their design here.
Look at your achievements and document them
When it comes to New Year’s resolutions we always think about how we want to improve ourselves or what goals we want to aim for, but we never take the time to look back on the year and praise ourselves on what we’ve achieved so far. Scrolling through your portfolio or Instagram feed is a great way to see what you’ve created over the year. If you haven’t captured quite as many as photos as you wish, why not take the New Year as a chance to document all your work. A great way to make sure you don’t miss any moment of 2016 is to join a photography project. Choose from simply taking one photo a day or get creative and follow specific themes, there’s something to suit your style and taste.
