How to choose the best frame for your canvas
When it comes to transferring your image on to canvas, choosing the best frame for the job is made easy at Parrot Print HQ. Every canvas we create is delivered ready to hang on your wall, so all you need is a nail! There’s no need to assemble your own frame or to cover your canvas with glass, though you might want to play around with your method of display to personalise it to you. To ensure you’re happy with the frame for your canvas print, here are a few things you need to know.
Parrotprint frames for canvas prints
Our canvas prints come ready stretched on artist stretcher bars made from solid environmentally sustainable pine frames. These frames are kiln dried for strength and are fitted with wedges for extra support. Each frame is made to order with your print transferred to textured archival grade canvas.
How your image appears on the canvas is entirely up to you – you can choose a standard wrap with black or white edges to imitate a traditional frame or select a gallery wrap so that your images right to the edge of the frame with no plain canvas showing. This kind of wrap can add depth to your images and without a glass cover your picture will be free of glare.
Other than the wrap of your image, the only other decision you have to make when placing your order is selecting the size of your canvas. Our photography upload software ensures the image you upload is of a good enough quality for the size of your canvas, so you don’t need to worry about over pixilation or skewed images.
Additional frame ideas
Just because canvas prints come ready stretched on pine frames doesn’t mean you can’t personalise the display of your image. Our split canvas prints allow you to display your image in a slightly different way for more impact and work particularly well with landscapes and cityscapes.
As well as playing with the layout of your image with a split canvas arrangement you can choose to highlight your images with alternative frames. You could place your prints in faux frames created with coloured paint on the walls, fit them snuggly into shelving or arrange bunting, fairy lights or other embellishments around your canvas prints to show them off.
Have you created a special arrangement with your canvas prints at home? Perhaps you’ve made them a focal print of a feature wall? We’d love to hear your creative ideas!
