New Kids Bedroom Trends
Spring brought us pastel hues, shades of grey and incorporating our children’s favourite cartoon characters using canvas prints, but what will the new season bring? Since autumn is officially here, we’ve taken a little look into what is influencing kids bedroom trends for the rest of the year…
Create Custom Headboards
Whether it’s the front of a car, a chalkboard or rustic, wooden panels filled with fairy lights, creating a custom headboard is a stylish aspect that will last years rather than for one season. If you dabble in a little DIY you’ll know that custom headboards don’t pull any more heavily on your purse strings than those readily available in stores. So, whether you upcycle an old headboard or buy the parts you require separately, this is the ideal way to craft something totally bespoke (not to mention something that’s plenty of fun) for your child.
Get Canvas Trendy
If you haven’t got Snapchat, you best download it now because this interactive photography app is one of the biggest photo trends at the moment. From glittering butterfly crowns to puppy faces, and not to mention all the other funny and wacky filters, your children are bound to love these (that’s if they don’t already.) We suggest taking some silly pictures of them with their favourite ones and blow them up on canvas prints to hang for the whole family to see. There’s even filters for two people, so you can get involved too!
A Simple Scandinavian Space
Currently at the top of the trend charts is the Scandinavian-inspired decor and accessories. Think soft grey and white hues, wildlife accessories and rustic finishing touches. It’s a rather simple style of decor and one that creates more space and allows in more light. On Pinterest it can look like a rather grown up bedroom, so to ensure it stays fun and child-like we suggest adding more wildlife accessories, such as rabbit pillows, fluffy rugs, indoor tents as a play area - the possibilities are endless!
Don’t Forget The Rest Of The Home
With a new season comes new trends and this usually affects the whole house not just one room, so why stop at your child’s bedroom? There are plenty of autumn interior trends you can choose from to spruce up your entire home. And if you love a little glitz and glam around the winter party season, then make sure you tap into the 1920s trend that is so popular right now.
What kids bedroom trends are you loving this season? Are you getting crafty in the process? We’d love to see the end results, so make sure you send us a snap on Facebook or Twitter
