The end of the school term always produces a range of emotions in children and teachers alike and today on the blog we are going to look at how to capture them with the end of term creative canvas prints.
Some of these canvas projects make use of images alone, while others draw in familiar objects from school life. As well as making excellent keepsakes for children and their friends they can also be given as unique gifts for family or even to teachers. Here are our top-end of term creative canvas prints for making lasting school memories:
1) School photo montage
There are few homes where you will find a child’s class photo or portrait from every single year displayed on the wall. Even if they’ve yet to enter the phase where such imagery might embarrass them and they’ve objected to the photos being shown in public, such a gallery would be very space consuming. Make use of those precious (and often expensive) school photographs by creating your own canvas print collage mapping their journey through school. Alongside saving space, you also have the option to change the colour of your images.
2) A before and after canvas prints
If you fondly remember walking your child to school on your first day and happen to have a photograph that marks the occasion, don’t forget to snap them on their final day. A before and after canvas is a great gift to give to teens when they head off to college or university and is equally appreciated by grandparents and relatives. Have fun comparing their changed choices in school bags and haircuts by ordering one of our split canvases.
3) Group shots
The whole of class photographs printed on to small canvasses makes ideal presents for teachers or members of a friendship group. If your snap is taken on a smartphone, try layering the image with a special message – perhaps wise words spoken by a favourite teacher or a significant date. To fit in everyone’s smiling faces, try shooting from above (take a look at our photography from a height post for more tips). Check out this blog post, explaining the dos and dont's for large group photos.
4) The end of term signed shirt
Somewhere over the years, final day traditions have emerged – the most familiar of which is the signing of the white school shirt. However, customising a school shirt with personalised messages written in pen doesn’t really create something that you will wear in the future and so these items often get lost at the back of the wardrobe. To ensure those messages are not forgotten, make sure you take a good photo of the shirt being worn. Better still; arrange the shirt with other school items like the school tie for an image that can be transferred to canvas, recording all those final day feelings for years to come.
Do you still have your school photos lingering in a drawer? Dig them out and we’ll help give them a new lease of life.
