Easter project

As Easter weekend approaches, many of us are planning to indulge in traditional activities other than Easter egg hunting and chocolate eating. A poll conducted ICM on behalf of Retail Week reveals that 67 per cent or respondents are planning to carry out home improvement of some kind this year, up a massive 59 per cent from last year. However, with the budget strings in most homes still a little tight, almost two thirds will choose to roll up their sleeves to do the work themselves rather than hiring a tradesperson.

If you’re among the thousands of Brits planning some Bank Holiday crafting or DIY, why not put a DIY canvas print on your creative agenda? Here are just a few reasons why a personalised canvas print makes the ultimate DIY to-do this Easter break…

A rainy day project

Once the kids have recovered all the eggs from their respective hiding places and munched through piles of chocolate there are still a number of days to fill before they head back to school. Creating a canvas print together is the perfect project for a rainy day – you can choose to incorporate some photography alongside other arts and crafts and at the end you’ll have a keepsake of your creative efforts. An easy room update

If you don’t quite have the budget for a full room redecoration, some new wall art is a great way to freshen up a space. Using a personalised canvas print or a collection of prints you can inject accents of the latest on trend colours, patterns and prints or document a recent trip or illustration project. Check out this article from the Telegraph for information on the latest interiors trends, which includes the appearance of pastels and lots of grey notes. An Easter gift

If you have a friend or family member who isn’t a chocolate fan, a customised canvas print makes a thoughtful Easter gift that will long outlive an Easter egg. Portraits and pet photos are popular choices for custom canvas prints to give as gifts, though you could also choose to embrace the Spring theme and layer a Spring poem or appropriate quote about new life over a related photograph or illustration.

Are you planning to pick up a paintbrush or head out with your camera over the Easter break? We look forward to seeing your artistic efforts here at Parrotprint headquarters when we transfer your images to canvas.
