Spring into the season with these interiors trends
A few carefully selected pieces of furniture, lighting or a change up in wall colour can really update a room without the need for a full scale makeover. Step into spring 2017 with these stylish trends and take inspiration for your next canvas print from the colours, themes and looks of the season...
Antique-effect mirrors
Mirror, mirror on the wall, this is one of the biggest trends of them all! Think vintage with a modern twist when it comes to mirrors for 2017. You could make use of an old mirror that has been kept well or refurbished or even select a brand-new mirror that has encapsulated the essence of a bygone era.
Shabby chic comes to mind and ‘moody’ colours are a must for this trend, along with the colour palette of this season in general.
Colour, colour, colour!
No longer is white, ivory or beige the wall colour of choice. Go bold with colours that make a statement, especially in shades such as khaki greens, teals and dusky rose.
Another trend is breaking up the colour on your walls with half one colour and half another. Why not produce your own take using a triptych canvas? Blacks with pastels are a popular combination for a striking and on trend wall art.
Layering rugs
Rugs have forever been a staple of home décor, giving a cosiness and warmth to a room and giving relief for bare feet from cold, hard flooring. The trend for 2017 is to layer rugs on top of one another, essentially creating a patchwork look to your flooring.
This is a great way to spruce up your living room or even a larger bedroom. Go for textures that complement one another and don’t be shy when it comes to the colour – remember, bold is better!
Metal
This is huge in interiors trends for 2017. Whether in frames, kitchens, lighting, table legs or table tops, metals are really hitting the décor mark. Shiny metals are not the way to go, however – think understated matte looks for optimum effect.
A combination of all the above trends, will give a fresh and stylish spring update for any room in your home. It shouldn’t break the bank either, with many of these trends easily achieved with smaller touches and cheaper materials and products.
