Cute canvas print ideas for the nursery

Decorating a nursery can be a lot of fun. You can play with colours, patterns and textiles you might not dare to use elsewhere in the home and revel in the knowledge little eyes will gradually take in every detail of your efforts. Babies can become entranced by everything from lights and shadow through to the wiggling of their own toes, so nursery décor can really enthral or inspire. Whether you’re decorating a nursery for your own little one or know a friend or family member who is expecting, we hope these ideas will be provide some inspiration for creative canvas prints to fuel young imaginations.

Inspired by nature
Babies spend a lot their time wide-eyed at all the new and wondrous things around them and nature in particular is often a source of fascination. From flora and fauna through to animals and the oceans, some colourful photographs transferred to canvas or illustrated canvas prints featuring the world around them will surely keep them captivated.

Nursery rhymes
If there’s a particular lullaby or nursery rhyme that always makes your little one smile, why not have the words printed on canvas along with a photo or picture that brings the verse to life? Select a single line to illustrate or create a series of prints that you can position in order on the walls to help babies learn as they grow.
Messages for baby

If you have a special message you want your child to remember, why not put it in a frame? It could be something as simple as wishing them sweet dreams, the meaning of their name, a note telling them you love them to the moon and back or a reminder to them to be brave and kind. Choose an interesting type and set against a coloured background or add a drawing or photograph that reinforces the message.

Older siblings’ artwork
When new arrivals come home it can really help to have older siblings feel involved in the process, so why not ask them to help decorate the nursery with some artwork of their own? Ask them to draw a picture or write a message for their new sibling or you could even take a photograph of them together to put on the wall.

Hopefully this has given you a few ideas for canvas art to adorn the walls once the paint has dried on the nursery but as your baby grows and you learn more about their personality, we’re sure lots more ideas for personalised prints will pop up.
