Your choice of where to go on holiday this year will be influenced by the climate you want, the culture you want to enjoy and also the budget you have to play with. There’s also the question of how photogenic your holiday photography hotspots are, so you can take stunning photographs that can be treasured for long after the suntan fades.

Here’s a top four of photography holiday hotspots to whet your creative appetite - some of them may even make the cut for a travel inspired canvas print…

1. Grace Bay, Providencials, Turks and Caicos
With crystal clear waters that appear turquoise in colour and powdery white sands, it’s no wonder that Grace Bay has been named Tripadvisor’s most recent best beach in the world. This beach is situated in the Providencials, more commonly known as ‘Provo’ and covers an area of 38 miles as well as a long coral reef that is rich is aquatic life. Photographers will enjoy the challenge of dealing with bright sunshine with varying contrasts and, with clear waters and lots of beautiful aquatic species, underwater photography.

Best time to go: year-round

2. Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, USA
Nothing can quite prepare you for the view that awaits you overlooking the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The rich array of colours in red, brown and white hues will certainly have you reaching for the camera quickly and, if you’re feeling fit, you can take a trek down to the bottom for close-up views of the 277-mile river that flows among the rock formations. In the Grand Canyon National Park, you’ll be hard pushed to take a bad photograph! Be sure to get up early to capture the sunset.

Best time to go: March to May and September to November

3. Amazon Rainforest, South America
If you want lush green landscapes and biodiversity by the bucket load, then there’s no place better than the world’s largest tropical rainforest. The Amazon is so huge that there’s still plant and animal species not yet discovered. It spans across eight rapidly developing countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, an overseas territory of France. 4. Rila, Bulgaria
The Rila Mountains - the highest in Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula - will be the go-to for scenic shots this summer. The north western part of the mountain is where you can see the seven Rila lakes and the beautiful Rila monastery. Mountains, forests and stunning architecture await you in Bulgaria, along with stunning cobalt blue glacial lakes, offering a dose of culture and several opportunities to test your photography skills.
